A 23-year old man suffered life threatening injuries after a vehicle turned in front of his motorcycle in the Encanto area of San Diego.
The motorcycle crash happened on Friday night, June 23, at about 7:45 PM on Federal Boulevard which is near Winnett Street. The car was a 2009 Toyota Corolla driven by a 37 year old man. According to police, he made a U-turn into the path of the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was behind the Corolla.
That’s when the 2014 Triumph Daytona hit the Corolla and flipped the rider; he was unconscious when emergency crews arrived. They took him to the hospital and it was reported that the motorcyclist had suffered a traumatic brain injury as well as several broken bones.
ABC 10 reported the driver of the Corolla was not injured.
San Diego police were at the scene shortly after the collision occurred. The driver of the car was not suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but the SDPD’s traffic division is still investigating the incident.
