A driver killed after his SUV collided with a sedan in a North County crash on January 31st has been identified.
According to the county Medical Examiner’s office, the driver was identified as Thomas Carl Asper, 86. He was driving south on Old Highway 395 near the Interstate 15 off-ramp at approximately 7:45 AM on January 31st when his Toyota Venza was struck by a Jaguar XF exiting the freeway.
Due to the crash, Asper’s car overturned and he was ejected. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The 18-year-old Jaguar driver was not injured. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
