A multi-vehicle car crash occurred on October 8, killing two people and critically injuring three others.

According to the Albuquerque Police Department, the drivers of two cars were racing at high speeds on Louisiana Boulevard. They then crashed into a third vehicle that had entered that intersection. Ultimately the female driver of that vehicle was killed, and two 14-year-old victims were seriously injured. 

In a report by KOAT 7, the male driver of one of the cars that was racing died at a hospital. The other driver that was also racing, Andy Doreste-Saumell, 28, was arrested and charged with homicide by vehicle, reckless driving, child abuse, and racing on the streets/drag racing. The occupants of that vehicle, including a child, suffered minor injuries. 

In footage of the street camera videos, a gold BMW and a green Mini Cooper can be seen racing on northbound lanes at Louisiana Blvd. According to surveillance video from a home, a Toyota is depicted entering Louisiana Blvd, and the BMW and Mini Cooper can be seen crashing into the side of that vehicle. 

The Mini Cooper’s driver was ejected as the vehicle flipped and landed on its roof. The 24-year-old driver was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and died. A 17-year-old female passenger in the Mini Cooper was in critical condition and taken to the hospital. 

The identities of the other passengers involved in the incident have not yet been released.

A terrible tragedy occurred in Waikiki when a 5 year old boy was pulled from a swimming pool and brought to the hospital. The Star Advertiser said the boy was found in serious condition.

The incident happened on October 5 with Honolulu Emergency Medical Services being called at 5:20 pm. They had to administer “life saving treatment” to the boy who was first found unresponsive when they arrived. Paramedics took him to the hospital, no further word has been given on his condition.

The paramedics went to the address of Hotel La Croix, which means it is likely these individuals were tourists.
